PCI was founded by the highly respected pickleball coach, Mark Renneson, who is deeply committed to placing the needs of students at the forefront. Mark created PCI with a mission to equip passionate instructors with all the tools and resources they need to deliver engaging, effective, and enjoyable pickleball lessons that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
how does it work?
PCI Level 1 certification is done 100% online (with on-court evaluations that you record and send in by video). This means that you can get started today, work at your own pace, from home, and submit your evaluations without having to worry about costly and inconvenient travel. Once you register, we’ll email you all of the training documents and instructions you’ll need to complete the course. Here is a small sample of the materials you’ll receive.

VIDEO SUBMISSION EXAMPLES:
The demonstration evaluation is a chance for the candidate to show that they can set up, demonstrate and run a playing activity for a small group. We provide the activities (see the video below), you make it happen with your players. You’ll record a video like the one below and send it in for the assessment.
The playing skills evaluation is used to assess a candidate’s ability to meet the minimum standards of play for a PCI-certified instructor. This is an opportunity to lead by example in the following skill areas: serve; groundstrokes to the baseline; groundstrokes to a player at the net; volleys; overhead smashes. Check out the video below to see the evaluation; you’ll make one just like it and send it to us.
The teaching evaluation measures a candidate’s ability to convey teaching points in a clear, correct and concise way. We provide the teachings points, you show that you can both explain them and demonstrate how they work. This is just like what you’ll do with your students and you’ll make a video to show us how awesome you are.
