Terms and Conditions

By completing the online registration or otherwise participating in a Selkirk camp or event, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and that you agree to the following terms and conditions (the “Terms”). If you are under the age of 18, this form must be signed by you as the participant AND by your parent or legal guardian.

These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and Selkirk Sport, LLC (“Selkirk”). Please read them carefully. If you do not accept these Terms, you may not enroll or participate in a Selkirk camp or event. 

1. Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to [Email Address].

  • 60+ Days Out: 100% cash refund.
  • 60 to 10 Days Out: Choice of a 50% cash refund OR a 75% voucher for a future camp.
  • Fewer than 10 Days Out: No cash refund (except where prohibited by local law); may be eligible receive a 50% voucher for a future camp (in Selkirk’s discretion).
  • Organizational Cancellation: If the camp is canceled by the organizer (e.g., for low enrollment), a full refund will be issued.
2. Registration Transfer Policy

Purchases may be transferred to another eligible player up to one (1) week prior to the first day of camp. To transfer:

  1. Submit a written request including the new participant’s name and contact information.
  2. The new participant must complete all registration forms and waivers before the camp starts. 
3. Inclement Weather Policy

We utilize facilities that guarantee play regardless of weather. This includes facilities with:

  • Guaranteed Indoor Access: A combination of indoor and outdoor courts where indoor use is secured if weather conditions require it.
  • Exclusively Indoor Courts: High-standard climate-controlled environments.
    Camp will proceed as scheduled in these sheltered environments; no refunds are provided for rain or heat.
4. Health and Medical Authorization 

You certify that you are in good health and that you have no medical condition that would make participation unsafe or inappropriate. You assume all risks in participating in a Selkirk camp or event, whether foreseeable or unforeseeable.

  • Emergency Care: You authorize Selkirk staff to seek and consent to any necessary medical or surgical treatment, including hospitalization and transportation, if you cannot be reached in an emergency.
  • Financial Responsibility: Selkirk is not liable for any costs associated with emergency care. You agree to be solely responsible for all costs associated with such medical care and transportation. 
  • Selkirk reserves the right to refuse participation if safety is compromised.
5. Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe environment, all participants must:

  • Respect Others: Treat all coaches, players, and officials with dignity. Bullying, taunting, or use of profanity is strictly prohibited. Respectful behavior towards other participants, players, coaches, and venue staff is mandatory.
  • Fair Play: Follow all camp rules and instructions from staff.
  • Zero Tolerance: Refrain from using or possessing alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs during the event. Violation may result in immediate dismissal.

Selkirk reserves the right to remove any participant for breach of the Code of Conduct or other misconduct without a refund. Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, harassment, threatening behavior, violence, or damage to property.

6. Termination & Suspension

Selkirk reserves the right to suspend or terminate your participation for breach of these Terms. No refund will be provided for termination due to participant misconduct.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the applicable event is held.

9. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.

Read this Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver of Liability (this “Waiver”) carefully and in its entirety. It is a binding legal document.

I understand that participating in pickleball and sporting activities in general involves a certain amount of risk. I agree to not participate unless I am in good health, and medically and physically able. I acknowledge and assume any and all risks associated with my participation in Selkirk Academy training camps (the “Event”) including, but not limited to, traffic on the courts; falls; contact with equipment, animals, insects, staff and other participants; and the overall conditions of the courts/facilities and equipment, including, but not limited to, weather, playing surfaces, nets, balls paddles and the like. Knowing and appreciating these risks and in consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, representatives or anyone else claiming on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release, and discharge Selkirk Sport, LLC (“Selkirk”) and its subsidiaries and their respective owners, directors, athletes, facilitators, officials, sponsors, and anyone else assisting with the Event, including the host facility and its owners and personnel (collectively, the “Releasees”), from any and all claims of liability for death, personal injury, or damage of any kind arising out of, or relating to, the Event.

This Waiver extends to all claims of every kind whatsoever, including but not limited to, risks which may be foreseeable or unforeseeable, known or unknown, and those caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise. I also consent to emergency treatment in the event of injury or illness. I grant full permission to discharge Selkirk and its assigns to use and disclose my name, age, and date of birth in connection with such emergency treatment.

Data Privacy & Protection Compliance  

By signing this Waiver, you acknowledge and consent that Selkirk may collect, use, and process your personal data (including but not limited to your name, contact details, and photographs/video recordings taken during the Event) for the following purposes, in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the jurisdiction of the Event:

  1. Event Administration – to manage registration, participation, and communication related to the Event.
  2. Safety & Compliance – to ensure health, safety, and compliance with venue and regulatory requirements.
  3. Promotional Use – to use photographs, videos and recordings for marketing, publicity, and future event promotion.
  4. Legal Obligations – to comply with statutory or regulatory requirements under the jurisdiction in which the Event takes place.

Your personal data will be stored securely and will not be disclosed to third parties except:

  • where required by law,
  • to service providers engaged by Selkirk, or
  • with your prior consent.

You have the right to access, correct, or withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data by contacting Selkirk in writing. Withdrawal of consent may affect your ability to participate in the Event.

This Waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Event takes place. If any portion of this Waiver is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full legal force and effect.

Pickleball Coaching International is an organization that provides coaching resources, education, and benefits to pickleball coaches at all levels. It offers a collection of high-impact videos, resources, and mentorship opportunities to enhance coaching skills and confidence.

By joining Pickleball Coaching International, coaches gain access to exclusive coaching education, technical fundamentals videos, training activities, case studies, and downloadable tools. They can also become certified instructors, enjoy members-only benefits and get discounts on Selkirk pickleball equipment.

The PCI Level 1 certification course includes 7 hours of on-court training and approximately 2 hours of pre-course work which is done online. During the in-person course, you'll be guided my expert coach educators and have a chance to develop your coaching skills while receiving meaningful feedback and chances for improvement. Evaluations include knowledge tests, a demonstration evaluation, a playing skill evaluation, and a teaching evaluation.

No, the certification is not automatically granted. Coaches must demonstrate competency in four areas: understanding the course materials, leading a small group, clear and concise teaching, and playing demonstration. Successful candidates earn the Level 1 certification, while those who don't meet the standard can retake the evaluations for a fee.

No, Pickleball Coaching International has made the digital aspect of the program simple and user-friendly. Clear step-by-step instructions are provided and friendly support is available for any questions or concerns.

Please bring comfortable court shoes, a water bottle, a notebook and pen and athletic attire. We provide high-quality Selkirk balls and all necessary training equipment. If the facility you are attending has outdoor courts, you may want to bring sunscreen and any other outdoor gear you may want to have.

There is a playing skill evaluation that participants will need to pass. Players at a 3.5 level or above should be able to meet standard.

Most courses are 7 hours long plus approximately 2 hours of pre-course online preparation.
